Its capital, Raven’s End, is a city of dark, haunting beauty situated approximately ten kilometres inland along the Glitterstream. This river is a geographical marvel in its own right, a massively wide estuary that provides effortless maritime access to the sea, allowing the riches of the world to flow directly into the heart of the country. Perched atop sheer cliffs, the capital is a silhouette of gothic church spires and ancient wooden houses, chiming bells and beautiful graveyards, all perpetually shrouded in a thick, unnatural mist. Known colloquially as "The City That Never Sees Day," Raven’s End and the surrounding low country are defined by grey skies and a constant, swirling fog that serves as a supernatural veil. This perpetual gloom has made Frassand a sanctuary for supernatural entities and creatures of the night, who flock to the mists to seek protection from the burning rays of the sun. The atmosphere is heavy with the macabre and the magical, creating a vibe that is as unsettling as it is alluring. The nation is governed as a democracy, though the franchise is restricted; a ruling council is voted into power exclusively by the upper class. This has resulted in a society of extreme contrasts, where the nobility is filthy rich and the workers have less and less by the day. Adjacent to the capital lies the world-renowned Crow Academy, an institution feared and respected across all of Gryth. The academy specialises in witch-hunting and magical combat, drawing aspiring hunters from every corner of the continents. Its reputation is built upon a foundation of brutality, with training regiments so extreme that many do not survive the curriculum. Those few who endure the hardship and pass the final trials are elevated to the rank of Blackfeathers. These elite warriors are the most highly renowned supernatural hunters in existence, specifically trained to track and destroy demons, the undead, and the most twisted of abominations. Thus, with the pull of the fog for the supernatural entities, and the creation of the militant Blackfeathers, a spiritual arms race has overtaken the country. Despite its internal focus on the supernatural, Frassand is a nation defined by its external tensions. For hundreds of years, it has been embroiled in a bitter, high-stakes rivalry with its southern neighbour, Durdany. This historical animosity fuels much of the nation's political and military posturing, as the two powers vie for dominance over the lucrative trade routes of southern Auken. Between the shadow-war against monsters led by the Blackfeathers and the looming threat of the Durdany conflict, Frassand remains a land where immense wealth and dark magic have created a treacherous and strange atmosphere. ![[Pasted image 20260201090354.png]] ![[Pasted image 20260201090400.png]] ![[Pasted image 20260201090406.png]] ![[Pasted image 20260201090412.png]] ![[Pasted image 20260201090417.png]]
